Mystery animal that mauled and ate multiple dogs' vital organs identified

Last summer, locals in villages close to a small forest were left terrified after a series of attacks by “a strange that "ate the intestines, liver, and lungs of ”.

This ferocious creature is believed to have killed 11 dogs in devouring the remains of nine of them between May and June 18, 2024.

The first two attacks occurred in Prey Kour village, Sambor commune, Romeas Hek district, Svay Rieng province, where locals made the sickening discovery.

Other grisly scenes were encountered in Romduol and Veal villages, Stong Khang Tboung commune, Kamchay Mear district, Prey Veng province, while villagers caught glimpses of mysterious prowling around outside their homes.

As previously reported by the Khmer Times, local woman Meas Mon, 62, who lives in the province’s Romduol village in Stong Khang Tboung commune’s Kamchay Mear district, advised officers that she came across an unusual sight at approximately 1 am on June 9.

After stepping outside her house with a flashlight, the 62-year-old spotted two animals resembling black bears, which then fled at once. Some weeks later, on July 1, it was announced that the animal had been captured by authorities and beaten to death by residents of Kamchay Mear district, Prey Veng province.

In a public statement, Oun Phearak, Deputy Governor and Spokesman of Prey Veng province, clarified that the attacks had been the first of their kind in the area, sharing how, once authorities learned of the gruesome incidents, an investigation was immediately launched.

According to Phearak, it appeared that the animal was some sort of dog, living out in the forest. Although the beast had finally been caught, Phearak warned those in the area to remain vigilant, to keep an eye on their children, and to report any unusual animal sightings to the authorities without delay. It was also reported at the time that authorities were scouring the region for other creatures.

This where mysterious remains reportedly resembling a were found in the rural area of El Túnel in the municipality of Ixhuatlán del Sureste, located southeast of the Mexican capital, Mexico City.

After hearing eerie screams in the dead of the night, a group of petrified locals headed out at dawn to investigate, searching a wooded area. It was then that they made a nightmarish discovery.

The remains of a bizarre around the same size as a with strange fur and teeth lay on the ground. Most intriguingly of all, the animal appeared to have hands just like a human, but with claws where its fingers should have been.

According to one local report: “When the locals went to see it, they found an animal the size of a lamb. With a rare jaw fur, with hands resembling a human, but instead of fingers it has claws. Locals say it's a nagual.”
